Radwańska’s victory spurs nearly PLN 9 mln worth of media coverage

The Sunday triumph of tennis champ Agnieszka Radwańska in the WTA Finals in Singapore generated 1,600 articles in the media.

As the PressService Media Monitoring analysis reveals, the 26-year-old’s defeat of former Wimbledon title-holder Petra Kvitova drew an audience of 1.06 million.

The media coverage that followed on Sunday and Monday accounted for 1,100 articles online, around 200 radio spots, and some 100 mentions on TV and in the press.

Radwańska’s greatest triumph yet also caused a stir on social networking websites, generating 5,100 articles on Facebook and 3,500 tweets. The net worth of the overall publicity is estimated at PLN 8.8 million (over EUR 2 million). (aba/rk)
