74% of Poles ‘very optimistic’ about EU future

Since joining the European Union in 2004, Poles have become deeply integrated in the 28-country bloc.

Now the European Commission’s Eurobarometer has conducted a survey into member country’s optimism in the future of the EU.

Poland is in third place with 74 percent of those polled expressing “total optimism” towards the Union’s future.

Just 17 percent expressed a sense of “total pessimism” while nine percent didn’t know.
In terms of optimism, Poland was exceeded only by Ireland (78 percent) and Malta (75 percent). The average for the EU28 was 56 percent, with Greeks being the most negative. Sixty percent of those polled in the country were pessimistic about the future of the EU.
