Google releases Polish 2014 search results

The news landscape was a colourful one in 2014, and Poles’ search results mirror that.

The most search-for term this year, according to internet search giant Google, was Anna Przybylska. The actress died in November at the age of 36 after losing a battle with cancer.

Despite the fact that the Polish team did not play in Brazil this year, the World Cup was still number two on Google’s list. The championship’s final game (where Germany beat Argentina 1-0) was watched by 10.56 million in Poland.

The World Cup was not the only competition which attracted the interest of Polish internet users. Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst took third place in the Google ranking. The Austrian drag-queen won the Europe-wide singing contest with the song Rise Like a Phoenix.
